Just Getting started

While the Jim Pattison Group has been around since 1961, JPD has only been an independent business since 2006. While we are off to a good start, we see JPD becoming a leading, diversified real estate investment, management, and development company operating throughout Canada and the United States.

Jim Pattison Developments begins

Jim Pattison Developments (JPD) started its journey in 2006. Shortly after, JPD marked its independence as a business with the addition of its second full-time team member. A period of rapid development began with the opening of several grocery-anchored shopping centers, starting with Ellerslie Corner in Edmonton, AB.

◗ 2014

JPD Grows and Diversifies

By 2014, JPD’s income-producing property portfolio had grown to over 10 million square feet. The completion of JPD’s first residential development, Silverwood, in Surrey, BC, also occurred at this time.

◗ 2021

JPD Keeps Growing and Goes South

In 2021, JPD expanded its portfolio by adding eight grocery-anchored shopping centers, including its first properties in the United States.

◗ 2025

JPD Makes Major Investments

2025 was a massive year for investment in both retail and industrial properties. These include two large grocery-anchored enclosed malls in British Columbia which are central to their communities, and a number of grocery-anchored properties in Northern California featuring both Lucky and Safeway stores.
